Today, Florida Democratic Party Chair Allison Tant released the following statement recognizing World AIDS Day:
“Today, Floridians, Americans, and people all over the world come together to recognize World AIDS Day. This is a moment to remember the lives of those taken by this disease, and to honor their memory by rededicating ourselves to the fight against HIV/AIDS.
“World AIDS Day is also an opportunity to reaffirm our support for those who live with HIV/AIDS every day. Because of their courage and triumph in the face of adversity, they deserve nothing less than our undivided support. Here in Florida and around the world, there is so much more we can do to fight the spread of HIV and give a helping hand to those living with this disease.
“I am especially thankful for the good work of the Florida HIV/AIDS Advocacy Network, and encourage Florida Democrats to seek out meaningful ways like the Advocacy Network to fight the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Only by working together can we keep marching down the path toward eradicating this terrible disease.”
