Today, in response to Republican Sen. Anitere Flores’ anti-choice bill (SB 724) designed to restrict a woman’s access to abortion services, FDP Chair Allison Tant released the following statement:

“When will Florida Republicans get the message that women’s health care rights are not up for discussion in the twenty-first century? This attempt to chip away at a woman’s right to choose by implementing a 24-hour waiting period failed before and it will fail again. Senator Flores’ shameful effort to restrict the rights of women to access the medical services they require shows just how out of touch Tallahassee Republicans are with the women of Florida. Clearly the Florida GOP wants a government so small that it fits inside the exam room with a woman and her doctor.”
