Today, Marco Rubio ended days of silence and finally responded to Donald Trump’s harassment of the Khan family by tiptoeing around the situation with words like “unfortunate” and “complex,” ultimately failing to condemn Trump’s behavior.
In response, FDP Chair Allison Tant issued the following statement:
“No, Marco, Donald Trump’s attacks on a Gold Star family are not ‘unfortunate.’ They’re vile, cruel, and demonstrate a fundamental lack of judgment and character. In Rubio’s desperation to appeal to Trump voters, he’s proven himself yet again to be nothing more than a opportunist focused only on helping himself. No amount tepid policy criticism or belated handwringing will change the fact that Marco Rubio still believes Donald Trump should be our Commander in Chief.”
