Florida Democrats Celebrate Successful National Convention

Today, Democratic leaders from across the state celebrated the Florida delegation’s successful Democratic National Convention and thanked our speakers and guests. 

“The success of the 2016 Democratic National Convention proved that we are stronger together,” said House Democratic Leader Designate Janet Cruz. “Florida’s delegation reflected the diversity of our state and our nation, and I want to thank all of our grassroots Democrats who participated in this process and joined us in Philadelphia. We heard from an amazing group of Democratic leaders and I congratulate FDP Chair Tant on a successful convention.”  

“Florida Democrats couldn’t have asked for a better convention and I’m thankful to Chair Tant and her team for working to make this event such a success,” said Senate Democratic Leader Designate Oscar Braynon. “After hearing from such a strong group of Democratic leaders you can’t help but be fired up and ready to go. I want to thank all of our speakers for joining our team and working to help deliver Democratic victories up and down the ballot in November.”  

“I’m proud to say that thanks to our incredible delegates, sponsors, and guest speakers, the Florida delegation’s 2016 Democratic National Convention was an amazing success,” said FDP Chair Allison Tant. “I especially want to thank Senator Bernie Sanders and Senator Tim Kaine for taking the time to join us. As we heard from our speakers, Florida will play the deciding role in whether or not we continue to build on President Obama’s legacy of progress or turn the clock back on all we’ve accomplished. We cannot let the White House fall into Donald Trump’s hands and I’m proud that the Florida delegation stands united to ensure that never happens. Florida Democrats helped make history in Philadelphia and I know we’re going to do it again in November.”
