Republicans Confirm Extreme Right-Winger Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court
Neil Gorsuch has a proven history of placing corporations over workers and civil rights
Today, the Senate voted to confirm Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. FDP Chair Stephen Bittel gave the following statement:
“Neil Gorsuch is an extremist on all accounts. His confirmation to the Supreme Court by the Republicans cements what we’ve always known: that Republicans will stop at nothing to roll back reproductive rights, put corporations over working-class people and eliminate civil rights protections. Throughout his confirmation, Neil Gorsuch refused to answer questions from both parties and made a mockery of a process that for centuries has underscored our democracy and justice system. Now the Republicans ensured that the majority of the court will vote for extreme conservative ideology. Despite this concerning result, the FDP is proud that Florida Senator Bill Nelson, along with an overwhelming majority of Senate Democrats, stood strong against this nomination which will hurt working class Americans.”
