Republicans Sell Out Public Schools, Create Corporate Slush Fund 

In response to the Florida Legislature passing HB 7069, FDP spokesperson Johanna Cervone issued the following statement:  

“Unsurprisingly, Republicans have closed out the 2017 legislative session with a shameless, massive corporate handout. Schools of Hope is simply a slush fund for charter schools and it ensures that Republicans return the favor to their campaign donors. Instead of standing up for public schools and giving all our students a chance at success, Republicans cut per student funding and funneled money to privately managed charter schools. It​’s just another example of how the GOP has no qualms selling out to their donors.”
