ICYMI: Rick Scott Appoints Unqualified Lobbyist to Head Enterprise Florida
This week, Governor Rick Scott appointed notoriously inept lobbyist, Pete Antonacci, to yet another state agency.
Antonacci will be heading Governor Scott’s political slush fund, Enterprise Florida.
This appointment comes just days after Antonacci, the immediate past Executive Director of the South Florida Water Management District (despite having no qualifications for the position), made headlines for refusing to collaborate with the nonpartisan National Academies of Science.
“It is truly remarkable how little regard Governor Scott has for the state of Florida. Every agency should be headed by the most qualified candidate for the job. Instead, the Scott administration has stacked its agency appointments with unqualified lobbyists and political insiders to advance Rick Scott’s self-serving interests. Pete Antonacci is just another inept lobbyist heading up a major state agency with no real qualifications. Luckily, in 2018, Floridians will have the opportunity to elect a new and honest governor.” said FDP spokesperson Johanna Cervone.
