In response to Donald Trump’s decision to rescind the DACA program, candidate for state Senate district 40 Annette Taddeo issued the following statement:

 

“Ending the DACA program will devastate our economy and throw the lives of hundreds of thousands of young people into chaos. In Florida alone, over 30,000 DREAMers who only know America as home will be forced back into the shadows because of Donald Trump’s heartless and dangerous political game. Tearing families apart to appeal to an extremist base is wrong, plain and simple. Republicans and Democrats in Florida alike have an obligation to stand up and defend the people of our state and the well-being of our economy, regardless of political parties, and I call on Florida Republicans and especially the Miami-Dade delegation to reject this cruel and reckless decision.”
