Rick Scott Parties With Donors in Palm Beach, as Gun Legislation Struggles in Senate

The Washington Post reported Saturday that Rick Scott is spending the last weekend of legislative session not in Tallahassee, but in Palm beach with “influential Republican donors.” Florida Democratic Party Spokesperson Caroline Rowland issued the following statement:  

“While the legislature is in a rare Saturday session working to respond to the Parkland tragedy, Rick Scott is doing what he always does: looking out for himself, his political cronies and donors. It’s just the latest example of Scott’s self-serving politics, and further proof that he’s always putting his own political interests over everything else — including taking action to make Floridians safer from gun violence. When real leadership is needed, Scott is nowhere to be found.”
