Rep. Shevrin Jones Calls Out Trump’s Lack of Action on Opioids

The Florida Democratic Party released the following statement from Rep. Shevrin Jones ahead of Jeff Sessions visit to Tallahassee to tout Trump’s “vengeful” plan to deal with the opioid epidemic:

“Trump’s plan to deal with the opioid crisis is more of the same — a lot of talk and no action — furthermore he is proposing outrageous, dictatorship-style sentences like capital punishment for drug offenders. Jeff Sessions continues to carry Trump’s policies and message — which target communities of color, and offers no meaningful action and too few funding sources for prevention. Florida families are suffering and it’s time for Trump, his administration, and Republicans to take action, before the opioid crisis tears apart even more families.”
