Rick Scott Silent While Students #MarchForOurLives

FDP Spokesman Sebastian Kitchen released the following statement after Rick Scott remains silent as students participate in #MarchForOurLives:

“Today’s marches cast a bright spotlight on Rick Scott’s long record of prioritizing his self-serving politics over making Floridians safer from gun violence. During the 612 days between Parkland and Pulse Scott did nothing to address the epidemic of gun violence because his political donors and backers didn’t want him to, and even now he’s refused to listen to the Parkland students who demanded commonsense gun reform including universal background checks and a ban on assault rifles. Scott is only ever concerned with advancing his own political agenda, which is why Floridians don’t trust him on this issue or any other.”
