In response to a federal judge extending the housing deadline for displaced Puerto Rican families, State Rep. Amy Mercado released the following statement:

“While this is great news for displaced Puerto Ricans who stood to lose their housing, it is yet another stark reminder of Rick Scott’s refusal to stand up to Donald Trump and use his power as governor to help these families. It is unacceptable that a federal judge had to step in due to Rick Scott and his good friend Donald Trump’s inaction, even as hundreds of Puerto Rican families faced homelessness.”
