Florida Democrats Condemn Trump Administration for Sending Cubans Back to Cruel Regime

A report Thursday from the Miami Herald revealed that the Trump Administration deported 120 Cubans as part of the administration’s anti-immigration plan. Florida Democrats released the following statement today:

Florida Democratic Party Executive Director Juan Peñalosa:

“How will Trump explain his cruel decision of sending Cubans to the hands of a violent regime? It is shameful that Cubans like Marco Rubio and Jeanette Nuñez uses their community to ascend to power and remain silent while this administration deported back hundreds of people fleeing persecution. Trump pretends to be a friend of the Hispanic community, but the reality is that his only intention is to deport as many people as he can.”

State Senator José Javier Rodríguez, a Cuban-American Democrat:

“I wonder if Donald Trump and his people think Cubans are no longer persecuted by the Cuban regime when they are sent back? I recommend this president to stop getting advice from the Castro regime and his cronies and listen to the people of Cuba. Will his followers in Miami be happy about this?”
