Florida Democratic Chair Terrie Rizzo released the following statement on the second anniversary of Hurricane Maria:

“Two years after the devastation of Maria, Puerto Ricans are still dealing with the poor treatment coming from Trump and his administration. Today, we remember those who lost their lives after Hurricane Maria, and we honor them and Puerto Ricans who continue recovering with little help from the Trump administration. Whether it is lying about the funds that the island received or diverting funds to build his wall, Trump treats Puerto Ricans like second-class citizens. Florida Democrats condemn Trump’s efforts to disrespect our fellow American citizens and we continue fighting for them and their recovery.”
