Florida Democrats Hold Weekend of Action to Mark "One-Year-Out" from Election Day

Over 150 Events Planned in 34 Counties Across the State

This Sunday, November 3, marks one-year out from the 2020 Presidential Election, and to mark the date the Florida Democratic Party will hold a weekend of action. On Saturday, hundreds of volunteers will participate in over 150 events in 34 counties across the state.

Trained organizers and volunteers will be out registering new voters and enrolling voters in vote-by-mail. The goal is to complete 2,020 volunteer shifts by the end of the weekend.

“Democrats across the state are energized like never before, and we are working to harness that energy into action,” said Florida Democratic Party Chair Terrie Rizzo. “We are investing earlier than ever before to expanding the electorate to ensure that we will defeat Donald Trump — and this weekend of action is key to our efforts.”

The Florida Democratic Party is seeing an unprecedented amount of volunteer engagement for an off-year. Democrats have completed 1,221% more volunteer shifts than we did in 2015. Read how the Florida Democratic Party is creating a robust operation to set-up our eventual nominee for success.
