Ahead of Trump’s Daytona 500 Visit, FDP Chair and Former State Rep. Patrick Henry Denounce his Health Care Record

Former State Rep. Patrick Henry and Florida Democratic Party Chair Terrie Rizzo denounced Trump for threatening Floridians’ health care ahead of his campaign stop at the Daytona 500. Trump has let Floridians down time after time: he’s gone to court to overturn the Affordable Care Act with no replacement plan, proposed dramatic cuts to Medicaid and Medicare in his recent budget, and has failed to reduce prescription drug prices.

Patrick Henry, Former State Representative from Daytona Beach:

“When Trump campaigns in my home this weekend, I hope he talks about the 3.5 million Floridians with pre-existing conditions that could lose their health care if he succeeds in overturning the Affordable Care Act. Trump has attacked our health care time and time again — and though he might fail to mention it on Sunday, my neighbors and I know he can’t be trusted to protect our care.”

Terrie Rizzo, Florida Democratic Party Chair:

“Trump is coming back to Florida to gloss over the cruel and personal impacts of his broken promises on health care. I hope he enjoys the campaign while it lasts, but health care is the number one issue for Floridians — as they learn about his mission to undermine the ACA and cut Medicare and Medicaid, Trump’s brutal agenda will cost him at the ballot box.”
