Today the Supreme Court announced it would hear the Trump-backed lawsuit against the Affordable Care Act (ACA) later this year. Trump has been on a mission to undermine the ACA since he first took office — pushing to repeal this critical legislation in Congress and courts. Last month, Trump’s Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar admitted that he did not have a replacement plan for the ACA.

In response, Florida Democratic Party Chair Terrie Rizzo released the following statement:

“Donald Trump has spent an outrageous amount of time and energy attempting to dismantle the Affordable Care Act that millions of Floridans rely on for affordable health care. Trump is coming back to Florida to fundraise this weekend, and I hope he will explain why he doesn’t have a replacement plan for the 3.5 million Floridians with pre-existing conditions that are currently protected by the law he went to court to sabotage.”

Trump Broke His Promises on Health Care:

REALITY: Trump went to court to overturn the ACA, which could jeopardize health care coverage for over 1.5 million Floridians. It would also threaten 3.5 million Floridians with pre-existing conditions that are protected under the ACA.
