At Ron DeSantis’ coronavirus response briefing today in Orlando, the Governor used an old Florida joke to describe our state: “God’s Waiting Room.”

Florida Democratic Party Chair Terrie Rizzo released the following statement:

“Governor, this isn’t a time to do stand-up, it’s a time to stand up and lead.”

DeSantis’ statement comes after a slow response to curtail the spread of the virus from President Trump and Governor DeSantis put seniors at even more risk. And recent reports indicate as many as one of every four Covid-19 deaths in Florida is related to a nursing home and long term care facility.
