Florida Democrats Speak Out on Death of Ahmaud Arbery

The Florida Democratic Party today spoke out on the shooting death of Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year-old unarmed black man killed while jogging on February 23 in Brunswick, GA.

The cellphone video released online allegedly shows two white men in a truck tracking him down and shooting him on a neighborhood street. No arrests have been made by local police more than two months after the young man was killed.

Statement by Terrie Rizzo, chair, Florida Democratic Party:

“The senseless death of a young black man shot while jogging is unacceptable. Black men should not have to fear for their lives while going about their daily activities. As a society, we need to stand up and send a clear message that incidents like this are outrageous and intolerable. The perpetrators of this crime must be brought to justice. Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.”
