In response to Mike Pence’s visit to Orlando for a “Latinos for Trump” campaign event, Congressman Darren Soto released the following statement:
“The Trump administration has blocked progress and attacked the Hispanic community at every turn — from working to overturn the Affordable Care Act to overseeing record job loss to thwarting aid to Puerto Rico after devastating natural disasters to pushing a cruel and radical immigration agenda that tears families apart. The last thing we need is for Mike Pence to parachute in for a super-spreader campaign rally.
“We need real leadership that will fight to expand access to quality, affordable health care, treat our immigrant communities with dignity, and execute a clear plan to beat COVID-19 so we can get back to work and build back better. Donald Trump and Mike Pence have shown us they can’t get the job done. Come November, Hispanic voters from across Florida are going to reject Trump’s incompetent leadership at the ballot box and send Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to the White House.”
