Marco Rubio Hosts D.C. Fundraiser After Skipping Committee Hearing On Stopping Russian Money Laundering

Marco Rubio failed to show up to today’s hearings of the Foreign Relations Committee and Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe, skipping an important hearing on holding Russian oligarchs accountable. But Rubio made time for his campaign, scheduling a fundraiser in Washington, D.C. later in the day.

“While career politician Marco Rubio always makes time for self-serving fundraisers, he’s skipping out on the job Floridians elected him to do, missing an important hearing on stopping Vladimir Putin and his cronies,” said Florida Democratic Party spokesperson Grant Fox.

This isn’t the first time Marco Rubio put his political career ahead of doing his job. During his failed presidential campaign, Rubio regularly skipped national security briefings and important hearings to raise campaign cash.
