BREAKING: Marco Rubio Cosponsors Federal Abortion Ban While Calling For Even More Extreme Restrictions
Just two weeks after Marco Rubio dodged questions about whether he would support a federal ban on abortion in the Senate, he’s cosponsoring Senate Republicans’ latest plan to introduce a national abortion ban that would criminalize doctors.
Rubio has supported a nationwide ban on abortion with no exceptions for victims of rape and incest before, and recently has called for policies that go even farther than the latest proposal for a federal ban, advocating for bans on abortion “from the moment of conception,” with no exceptions.
“Introducing a federal abortion ban is just the latest example of Marco Rubio pushing dangerous restrictions on Floridians’ freedom to make their own health care decisions. Rubio has long made it clear that he supports extreme policies that go even farther than this national ban, including bans on abortion with no exceptions for victims of rape, incest, or human trafficking,” said Florida Democratic Party spokesperson Grant Fox.
