FLORIDA DEMOCRATS CONTINUE TAKE BACK FLORIDA TOUR IN NORTHEAST FLORIDA

After two successful weeks of the Take Back Florida Tour in Central and South Florida, the Florida Democratic Party turned its focus this week to the Northeast corner of the state.

The first event of the week was in Clay County, where supporters packed the local party office to welcome Chair Fried, kicking off the day’s stops with grassroots organizers.

In downtown Jacksonville, Chair Fried held a press conference addressing the housing and affordability crisis, ahead of the anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act signed into law by President Biden last year.

While Biden’s economic plan has brought down costs for working Americans, Ron DeSantis has made Florida the most unaffordable state in the nation, with inflation at double the national average.

“Inflation is going up here in the state of Florida. What are we doing…it is only up to us now to find real solutions, we cannot rely on Tallahassee,” District 7 Councilman Jimmy Peluso said.

Later that night, the Duval County Democrats hosted a rally at a venue in downtown Jacksonville calling on organizers to build on the momentum established here after the historic election of Mayor Donna Deegan.

“We’ve got to do the work to spread what we did in May all around the state of Florida — so we can elect champions like Donna Deegan up and down the ballot,” State Representative Angie Nixon said.

The Take Back Florida Tour will continue next week with stops in Gilchrist, Hernando, Pinellas, Lee, and Broward counties.
