Florida Republicans Put Party Before Florida Jobs
Florida Republicans Stay Silent on Trump Administration's Move to Halt Obama Order that Rewards Entrepreneurs and Creates Jobs

An executive order by the Obama Administration--that rewards entrepreneurs and creates American jobs--was slated to take effect this July. Instead, the Trump administration has delayed what is colloquially referred to as a "startup visa" for further review.

Business leaders, especially from the tech community, have decried this move as detrimental to job creation and economic progress.

In Florida where 506,778 people are employed at companies owned by immigrants, reversing the executive order will stifle a budding Florida tech scene that is requesting less regulation, not more.

"If Trump decides to rescind Obama's International Entrepreneur Rule, it will hurt Florida businesses. If Rick Scott really cared about creating jobs he would tell the Trump Administration to reverse course. Similarly, Adam Putnam talks a big game about making Florida the "Launch Pad for the American Dream", but barring entry to entrepreneurs who want to create American jobs will kill opportunities for Florida families. Republicans are potentially torpedoing a good policy that will help create jobs simply because it is a Democratic initiative. Republicans should put the politics aside and focus on jobs." said FDP spokesperson Johanna Cervone
